Archer Daniels Midland Company will be showcasing its latest health-focused nutrition concepts at this year’s Vitafoods exhibition, where it will place a particular focus on food, beverage and supplement applications

Designed to help formulators create consumer preferred products, experts will be on stand J126 to demonstrate how ADM’s unrivalled and industry leading product portfolio can be implemented to overcome common formulation challenges and satisfy consumer preferences for high-quality, natural and healthful options.

In particular, the company will be showcasing its ability to meet consumer demand for natural, clean label, low sugar, low sodium, vegan and vegetarian products as well as unveiling the latest addition to its extended omega-3 portfolio, Onavita DHA Algal Oil, a new DHA produced from a high-quality, reliable US algae supply.

Gerd Mueller, International Sales Director, Natural Health and Nutrition EMEAI, stated: “At ADM, we are dedicated to providing our customers with customised, high-quality solutions to address industry concerns and consumer trends. In particular, we’ve seen an increase in demand for plant-based products and omega-3s which is reflective of the consumer shift towards healthier living. We are looking forward to meeting with Product developers and formulators at Vitafoods to discuss how ADM can best support them.”

Plant power

With consumers becoming increasingly focused on their health, formulators are required to deliver products that meet a variety of needs, including the rise of veganism and vegetarianism.

As a global leader in plant-based proteins, ADM provides an entire portfolio of vegetarian options, including soy protein isolates, crisps, flours and concentrates as well as ancient grains and a range of edible bean and pulse ingredients.

To bring this to life, vegan protein beverages containing ADM’s Clarisoy range of neutral flavoured soy proteins will be available to sample. Meanwhile, fruit-lovers can try mango flavored fruit puree fortified with omega-3 fatty acids from Onavita DHA Algal Oil—a source of DHA that is suitable for vegans and can be used in a range of products from supplements to pasta sauces, dressings and much more.

ADM’s range of protein bars featuring the Textura range of customised soy protein crisps, which provide consumers with a convenient way to increase protein intake, will also be available on stand. Textura crisps are a great source of high quality protein, fibre and whole grains, and are available in a range of protein contents.

Sourced from nature

Additionally, concerns about the traceability of ingredients, as well as the increased demand for true-to-nature products has fueled an increased need for naturally-sourced, non-GM ingredients.

ADM will be showcasing its Novatol sunflower vitamin E and its Novasoy soy isoflavones to demonstrate to visitors how it can help producers address these consumer requirements across an array of applications.

Guilt-free indulgence

Owing to increased regulatory pressure and media scrutiny, the last few years have seen an increase in the number of products being reformulated to contain less sugar, salt and/or fat.

However, manufacturers need to ensure that the quality of products is not compromised. ADM’s Fibersol, a low viscosity soluble dietary fiber, can improve the health credentials of products without contributing to sugar levels.

To demonstrate the high quality developers can achieve, fruit snacks formulated with added fibre from Fibersol will be available to try at stand J126.

Those with a sweet tooth can also taste samples created using ADM’s FruitUp which provides natural sweetness from fruit. These ingredients not only aid sugar-reduction, but also provide enhanced flavour and colour stability.
