CFF introduces two hydrophobic cellulose powders

Published: 10-Jun-2021

The powders can be stabilised in low viscosity formulations and exhibit process stability through a range of pHs and temperatures up to 80°C

CFF’s has launched a natural hydrophobic cellulose powder which imitates the skin feel of microplastic powders and silicones in personal care products & colour cosmetics. The hydrophobic cellulose powders Sensocel 5+ and Sensocel bc 20+ are produced from wood or bamboo and are 100% natural, biodegradable and therefore harmless, the company says.

The two products reportedly provide a powdery skin feel and fast absorption without noticeable residues. Textures with hydrophobic cellulose powders are described by the company as light and homogenous, especially in W/Os, which often appear with an undesired stickiness, oiliness and slow skin absorption. Hydrophobic cellulose powders can be stabilised even in low viscosity formulations and exhibit process stability through a range of pHs and temperatures up to 80°C. The powders additionally combine these properties with eco-friendly ingredients, CFF says.
