Meeting the most sought-after sustainable palm oil production standards

Jay Lang, Executive Vice President, Charkit Chemical Company of Norwalk (CT, USA), announced that effective 14 January 2018, Charkit is a Supply Chain Associate Member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).

The membership is for a 2-year period and will be automatically renewed.

Mr Lang said RSPO membership authenticates that Charkit can provide sustainable palm oil.

Mr Lang explained that RSPO is an organisation established in 2004 to promote the growth and use of sustainable palm oil products that meet credible global standards.

RSPO is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur. Its members include palm oil producers, processors, traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks and investors, environmental and conservation professionals.

As a member of RSPO, Charkit will have access to a strategic platform to create and influence policies and key decisions, and benefit from best practices on agricultural, environmental and social aspects.

Charkit’s Palm Oil RBD is derived from the fruit of the oil palm tree.

It is solvent extracted, refined, bleached, deodorised and votated. This product is a multipurpose oil that has applications in the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.
