Nutraceutical products have gained increasing attention in the last few years, even more so since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic

DFE Pharma, a producer of excipients , has expanded its offering for nutraceuticals with the launch of the Nutroféli starch portfolio, comprising of ST100 (native starch), ST200 (partially pregelatinised starch) and ST300 (fully gelatinised starch).

Nutraceutical products have gained increasing attention in the last few years, even more so since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, as consumers become more aware about wellbeing, self-care and disease prevention. According to market research from GWI Zeitgeist, the number of US consumers taking vitamin supplements at least occasionally, increased from 36% to 43% since Q1 2020. Furthermore, four in five (79%) US adults take dietary supplements according to the Council for Responsible Nutrition’s 2021 Consumer Survey on dietary supplements from November 2021.

With the launch of the starch portfolio, the company aims to meet nutraceutical manufacturers’ requirements for quality, multifunctional ingredients, while ensuring on-time delivery and security of supply.

Bas van Driel, CEO of DFE Pharma, said: “As a global leader in premium quality ingredient solutions, we support our customers with their formulations to develop and deliver user-friendly dosage designs that appeal to consumers.
