Tina Sampalis, MD, PhD, has joined Tersus Life Sciences as Chief Scientific Officer. Dr Sampalis is an oncology surgeon and was trained in the fields of physiology, dermatology and paediatric and oncology surgery.
Dr Sampalis has PhDs in surgical Research, Epidemiology and experimental surgery. Dr Sampalis is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Medicine and the named inventor of numerous omega-3 phospholipid composition and method patents, and has authored numerous studies and peer-reviewed publications worldwide.
Dr Sampalis has been named among 100 most successful women, globally, by the Princeton Global Network.
Dr Sampalis joins Tersus Life Sciences following 15 years with Neptune Technologies and Bioressources as Chief Scientific Officer and President of Acasti Pharma. Dr Sampalis discovered and successfully pioneered krill oil and her research demonstrated the advantages of krill oil omega-3 phospholipids, well recognised today by academia and worldwide markets. Dr Sampalis is the catalyst for the success of such krill oil based products as Mega Red Krill Oil to global markets.
Dr Sampalis will provide leadership, oversight and governance of Tersus' patent estate, present and future clinical studies, product innovations and global positioning of Tersus' Provinal products. Provinal Omega 7 is a naturally occurring highly purified monounsaturated fatty acid with a broad range of scientifically and clinically proven health indications, bridging the treatment gap in lipid management.
