Suppliers fourth acquisition in 2011

Flavours and speciality fine ingredients supplier Frutarom Industries Ltd has acquired 100% of Aromco Ltd for $25m in cash – the fourth acquisition of a flavour company by Frutarom since the beginning of 2011.

According to Frutarom, the deal will enable the company to broaden its activity and market share in Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and the UK, and to strengthen its current product supply chain.

Frutarom’s president and CEO Ori Yehudai commented: “The acquisition of Aromco fits our strategy of expanding and increasing our market share in developing regions with high growth rates.

“Aromco’s activity in the UK market will be merged with Frutarom’s existing successful activity in which Frutarom is already considered a leading player.”

Yehudai added: “Aromco’s acquisition was the fourth completed since the beginning of 2011 and it continues the realisation of our strategy to integrate internal profitable growth with strategic acquisitions to double the sales turnovers within the next four years.”

Aromco – founded in 1985 by Keith Brown – had an annual sales turnover of $13m in 2010.
