FutureCeuticals adds HiActives Organic Broccoli Sprout Powder to its portfolio
Food supplement is said to promote detoxification and strengthen antioxidant power
FutureCeuticals, a US manufacturer of fruit, vegetable and grain-based nutraceuticals, has added HiActives Organic Broccoli Sprout Powder to its portfolio.
The powder is produced in the company's state-of-the-art facilities in America’s Heartland from broccoli seeds screened for quality and potency.
Harvesting at the peak of the sprouting process and gentle drying allow the company to create a whole sprout powder (not an extract) standardised to 4,000ppm minimum sulforaphane potential, 10,000ppm minimum glucoraphanin, and 15,000ppm minimum total glucosinolates.
Glucosinolates are commonly found in cruciferous vegetables. Glucoraphanin is a particular glucosinolate found in cauliflower, horseradish, and broccoli and broccoli sprouts. When foods rich in glucoraphanin are consumed, the glucoraphanin is transformed into sulforaphane, a member of the isothiocyanate group of organosulfur compounds, which is said to promote detoxification, strengthen antioxidant power and combat carcinogens.
