GanedenBC30 approved for use in Mexico
New study also demonstrates that the probiotic supports digestive and immune health in HIV patients
GanedenBC30 (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086) from US probiotics manufacturer Ganeden Biotech, has been approved for use in Mexico by the COFEPRIS (Comisión Federal para la Protección contra Riesgos Sanitarios: Federal Commission for Protection Against Health Risks).
The product will now be obtainable in Mexico as an ingredient for food and beverage enrichment.

'Mexico’s government has instituted a number of health initiatives to promote better education regarding proper nutrition and healthier eating habits. The sale of junk food has been banned from schools, and television advertising of high-calorie foods and high sugar content beverages has been restricted to specific hours. Mexicans are becoming increasingly health conscious and are interested in functional foods and beverages,' added Colin.
'Probiotics are currently used in many dairy products throughout Mexico, but the product options with GanedenBC30 are virtually limitless.'

A new study has demonstrated that GanedenBC30 supports digestive and immune health in HIV subjects.
Published in AIDS Research and Human Retroviruses, the study was a randomised, double blind and placebo controlled trial in HIV positive subjects who consumed either two billion CFU of GanedenBC30 daily or a matching placebo for 90 days.
