“The beauty and personal care industry has long advocated wellbeing and positivity, and this messaging is more relevant than ever in the wake of the pandemic”

Gelita, a manufacturer of bioactive collagen peptides (BCP) is a sponsor for SupplySide Network 365. On September 8, Tonja Lipp, Gelita’s Director of Business Development, Health & Nutrition (USA) will present an overview on considerations when choosing collagen for a beauty formulation.

“The beauty and personal care industry has long advocated wellbeing and positivity, and this messaging is more relevant than ever in the wake of the pandemic,” the company says.

Gelita’s Verisol collagen peptides are targeted for beauty formulations. Research has shown them to have a positive effect on skin, hair and nails, according to the company. The peptides are designed to contribute to healthier skin by decelerating wrinkle formation, while taking the ingredient regularly makes skin more elastic and refills the dermis with collagen and elastin (leading to fewer wrinkles and less pronounced signs of cellulite).

Consumers are increasingly switching to beauty products containing natural and sustainable ingredients, the company says. Its peptides are derived from native collagen and are not considered an additive, meaning they contribute to a clean label.
