Glanbia Nutritionals acquires flavour designer Foodarom

Glanbia Nutritionals has agreed to acquire Foodarom, a Canadian custom flavour designer and manufacturer servicing the food, beverage and nutritional product industries with turn-key flavours and formulation support.

The company’s flavour library comprises more than 15,000 recipes and produces both liquid and powder products for various applications.

It was founded in 2006 as a private company by Pierre Miclette and John Murphy and two shareholder investors. It’s headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, with additional production facilities in Salt Lake City and Bremen, Germany and with culinary laboratories in San Diego and Milan, Italy. The business employs 130 people.

Glanbia says the company is highly complementary to its approach and focus areas, boosting its capability in the area of flavours and nutritional solutions. The knowledge and experience of the combined R&D teams will help the company provide optimised ingredient systems to its customers.
