At Health ingredients Europe in Frankfurt, plant manufacturer Glatt Ingenieurtechnik presented its new modular compact system for classic agglomeration applications in the food industry.
The continuously operating fluid bed system solution boasts production quantities from 100 kg to 3 tons per hour in various sizes, and is designed for multi-step and multi-zone processes.
At the event for the European ingredients industry, discussions at the engineering and process experts’ stand focused primarily on systems for processing powdery substances, and suitable processes for protecting sensitive ingredients while equipping them with specific properties.
Lutz Heinzl, Sales Manager of the Food, Feed & Fine Chemicals division, says: “Many ingredient manufacturers were looking for suitable manufacturing processes for product development. Numerous visitors also reported on challenges in contract manufacturing, and their desire for more flexibility and reliability in terms of product quality."

The focus was on the new compact system solution "Glatt GF ModFlex" based on proven Glatt technology, which makes particles wetter, more flowable and easier to dose by means of spray agglomeration.
It also gives them with a more porous surface for improved flowability. Furthermore, if bulk density, compressible premixes and temperature-sensitive substances are a challenge, "Glatt GF ModFlex" is the ideal choice for medium capacity requirements.
With its compact concept, Glatt addresses the needs of manufacturers with special requirements when replacing old equipment, and who want to equip existing rooms of limited height.
With low operating costs and an installation time of only 12 days from commission, the concept meets all requirements for economical and safe continuous agglomeration of powdery components.
