New health and wellness event to take place in Jakarta, Indonesia

Growth of Indonesia's health and wellness food retail sales is impressive: an annual growth of 11.8% is to be expected.

Nutraceuticals are also forecast to grow at 10% this year. The Indonesian government is acknowledging and providing specific requirements for health claims and functional foods, hence the ability for the industry to seize opportunities now.

For this reason, it is with great pleasure that we, as the organisers of the market leading Food ingredients and Health ingredients events, introduce our newest event: Health ingredients South East Asia.

Health ingredients South East Asia 2016 will provide industry professionals with the latest industry insights in nutraceuticals, dietary supplements and functional foods at the international Nutrition and Wellness (NuW) conference.

This will take place on 6 and 7 April 2016. The Health ingredients event will be launched next April in Jakarta, Indonesia, alongside CPhI South East Asia 2016 and connects ASEAN decision makers and business partners who are responsible for developing health, natural, nutrition and wellness ingredients and solutions.

We strongly believe that now is the right moment to launch Health ingredients South East Asia in Indonesia. Brand Director, Olav Masseling is confident that this launch show will be a success: 'We have a strong attendee base in Indonesia though Fi Asia. Our health ingredients (Hi) shows — Hi Europe and Hi Japan — are high-level industry gatherings. We have learned that manufacturers are expected,in the coming years, to increase marketing of health and wellness products and product launches in the ASEAN region.'

'Indonesia, with a population of 248 million people, has a large and growing internal market. With many international ingredients companies looking to expand in the region, we have seized the opportunity to bring the advantage of these positive market attributes to our visitor and exhibitor client bases through the launch of Hi South East Asia 2016,' he added.

As the organiser of Fi Asia and CPhI Asia, two successful ingredients events in Indonesia, UBM knows the local market. It promises to deliver a high-level of industry professionals. The event will attract 6000 attendees and 260 exhibitors from 23 countries to the show.
