SVZ reinforces sustainability credentials with CSR platform membership

The new membership demonstrates SVZ’s continued commitment to delivering sustainably sourced, high quality ingredients

Fruit and vegetable ingredient supplier SVZ is proud to announce it has been accepted as a member of the Juice CSR Platform, a sustainability initiative aimed at supporting the European fruit juice industry in integrating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into business operations.

The new membership demonstrates SVZ’s continued commitment to delivering sustainably sourced, high quality ingredients to drink and food producers across the world.

The Juice CSR Platform was established in 2013 by the European Fruit Juice Association (AIJN) and has been endorsed and supported by the European Commission and the Centre for Agriculture and Environment (CLM). Since its creation, the platform has facilitated and supported collaboration in the juice industry, promoting best practice in sustainability amongst members and providing a clear CSR framework to track progress and share successes.

Jobien Laurijssen, Sustainability Manager at SVZ, said: 'We are delighted to have joined the Juice CSR Platform. Since the early days of SVZ, our commitment to sustainability has been central to our strategy and being a member of the Juice CSR Platform will serve to strengthen this. Our sustainability programme underpins our entire business across three core areas of agriculture, operations and people. Our customers demand high standards of traceability across the supply chain and, at SVZ, we are uniquely placed to deliver that.'

Committed to building secure agricultural supply chains through adopting sustainable practices that bring value to both farming communities and consumers, SVZ provides premium fruit and vegetable purees, juices and concentrates for a wide range of applications. Already a member of the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) platform and the Sedex community, SVZ presents outstanding sustainability credentials and exceeds the requirements of many industry bodies and individual customers.

Among the numerous initiatives to promote sustainable practices, SVZ invests in a comprehensive Farmer Training Programme that delivers expert knowledge to its partners and enhances transparency throughout the entire supply chain for customers. In pursuit of efficient supply chain management, SVZ and its community of growers works continually to drive production efficiencies throughout its businesses that minimise waste and protect the environment.
