Geeta Sidhu-Robb, Founder and CEO at Nosh Detox provides expert comment on recent breaking news

In the light of the report regarding "scandalous" lack of sugar warnings on cereals, which states that Breakfast cereal manufacturers including Bear, Jordans, Kellogg's and Nestle do not use colour-coded labels to inform consumers of the sugar content within their products, Nosh Detox CEO and founder, Geeta Sidhu-Robb says:“The news that some of the leading cereal brands, trusted by so many to provide us with the best quality products, are not being transparent with consumers with regards to the sugar content in their food is something that needs to be acted upon."

"It is vitally important that we, as the paying customer, are fully aware of what we are buying and eating – even more so  for mothers who buy these cereals for their children to eat before school every day."

"It should always be made apparent and readily accessible what is going into our foods as some people are less tolerant than others when it comes to certain ingredients."

Diets excessively high in sugar can lead to various health complications both in the long and short term, such as diabetes’s and obesity."

"To regulate and prevent this from happening, we need to know exactly how much sugar is in our foods. It is a gross-misconduct not to inform the everyday consumer of how much sugar is in their foods!”
