Qinghai Lake Pharmaceutical has been awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal following an audit.
The title recognises the sustainability of Qinhai's business practices across environmental impact, labour and human rights, business
ethics and sustainable procurement.
With the silver award under its belt, Qinghai now ranks among the top 15% of companies worldwide in terms of sustainability.
“This important recognition confirms the outstanding work carried out by QHL in implementing responsible, transparent, and forward-looking sustainability practices,” said Christian Artaria, CEO of Swisseutic SA.
“QHL operates in the heart of the Qinghai region on the Tibetan Plateau, at 2,800 meters above sea level and near Qinghai Lake."
"This pristine and uncontaminated environment is not only a unique location, but also a powerful reminder of the importance of protecting our planet through sustainable industrial practices," he added.
This recognition reflects a broader industrial development strategy that QHL is pursuing globally.
As part of this strategy, QHL collaborates closely with Swisseutic SA to ensure that European clients benefit from licorice derivatives that are not only of the highest quality, but also fully traceable and produced in alignment with internationally recognised sustainability standards.
QHL primarily produces licorice-based actives including Enoxolone, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizinate, Monoammonium Glycyrrhizinate, Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate, Glabridin and Licochalcone A — serving the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and cosmetics industries worldwide.
