BGG World (BGG) and its subsidiary Algae Health Sciences (AHS) have announced the completion of the second major expansion of their state-of-the-art, 100% glass tube photobioreactor microalgae farm in the last two years.
This expansion doubled the current capacity of BGG’s flagship AstaZine natural astaxanthin line. The groundbreaking took place in May 2022 and was fully completed within BGG’s one-year projection. The expansion is located in the same pristine region as the existing farm, approximately one kilometre from the current facility.
BGG’s farm was already the world’s largest, so doubling the size again has made BGG far-and-away the market leader in natural astaxanthin from microalgae. “We’re very pleased with getting this huge expansion done on time and within budget,” said BGG’s Founder & Chairman Chunhua Li. “And we’re extremely thankful for the support of our customers who made this expansion necessary; their appreciation of our unrelenting quest for quality and innovation is what makes BGG so successful.”
