Sabinsa founder and chair, Dr Muhammed Majeed, has announced the promotion of Dr Umar Jan to President of European Operations.
Dr Jan joined the company as EU Technical Sales Manager in 2013, and most recently held the role of Resident Director, Sabinsa Europe. He received Executive MBA degree from Mannheim Business School, and Doctorate in Biochemistry from Goethe University.
Before joining Sabinsa, Dr Jan worked at international research institutes including the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and European Molecular Biology Laboratory, Heidelberg. He has published several papers in journals such as Nature, Nature Methods, Nature Communications, EMBO, and JBC.
“Dr Jan’s scientific knowledge along with his business experience makes him the ideal member of our team to manage our continued growth throughout the European Union,” said Dr Majeed.
Dr Jan is based in the company’s Europe office in Langen, Germany.
