Barentz, a leading global specialty ingredients solution provider, announces the appointment of Sebastian Jakob as Vice President Human Nutrition EMEA, effective April 1, 2026.
The appointment establishes a single point of leadership for the Human Nutrition business in EMEA, strengthening alignment and the division’s commercial agenda. Sebastian brings more than 25 years of experience in the global food ingredients industry. Since joining Barentz in 2020 as Sales Director Central and Eastern Europe, he has driven organic growth, harmonised multiple Barentz entities into a unified regional organisation, and built high-performing teams across diverse markets. His leadership approach combines deep technical and market expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset shaped by co-founding two startups and scaling businesses from the ground up.
In his new role, Sebastian will provide overall strategic direction for the Human Nutrition division across EMEA. Working closely with the other regional Vice Presidents and Christian Barker, Global Head of Human Nutrition, he will lead the regional sales organisation with a focus on strengthening principal partnerships, optimising the product portfolio, and building a culture of ownership and accountability.
