Global nutrition company Herbalife has strengthened its push into personalised digital health after football icon Cristiano Ronaldo acquired a 10% equity stake in HBL Pro2col Software, LLC, the entity that holds Herbalife's Pro2col technology.
Ronaldo has invested $7.5m in Pro2col Software and committed to providing services and sponsorship rights to support the platform's growth.
The move marks a significant evolution of the long-standing partnership between the athlete and Herbalife, which has served as Ronaldo's global nutrition partner since 2013.
"After more than a decade together, our relationship is built on trust and shared ambition," said Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Investing in Pro2col felt like a natural evolution—in addition to representing Herbalife, this is about helping shape and grow a platform that can truly change how people engage with their health and wellness."
I've seen firsthand how Herbalife brings together science, innovation and personal support to make health and wellness more accessible.
"Working together with Herbalife to create something with lasting impact is what motivates me at this stage of my career."
Data-driven personalised nutrition platform
Pro2col is positioned as Herbalife's next-generation digital operating system for personalised health and wellness.
Designed to drive daily engagement and sustainable behaviour change, the platform uses individual data inputs to create tailored wellness plans that combine smart nutrition tracking with habit-building tools.
At the core of the platform is Pro2Score, a proprietary wellness scoring system that tracks progress across key health metrics.
The system is designed to provide users with measurable outcomes, actionable insights and ongoing motivation, aligning with growing demand in the nutraceuticals sector for evidence-based, tech-enabled health solutions.
The software also equips Herbalife's distributor network with enhanced data and engagement tools, enabling more structured and scalable personalised nutrition support.
This integrated approach combines AI-driven insights, product recommendations and community-based coaching—a model that reflects broader industry trends towards hybrid digital-physical wellness ecosystems.
Herbalife CEO Stephan Gratziani described Ronaldo's investment as a milestone in the company's evolution.
"Cristiano has been a valued partner for more than a decade and his decision to take an ownership stake in Pro2col marks an important milestone in our relationship," Gratziani said.
His investment reflects a shared belief in the power of nutrition, data, AI and personalised insights to drive better health outcomes and reinforces his confidence in the future impact of Pro2col.
Strategic rollout across North America and EMEA
Pro2col is currently undergoing a phased beta rollout in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, with access available to distributors and customers.
The company plans to expand the beta programme to additional international markets, beginning with select EMEA countries in 2026.
The investment signals increasing convergence between elite sports performance, AI-powered health tracking and mainstream nutraceutical innovation.
For the nutraceutical industry, the development highlights how global brands are leveraging celebrity partnerships not only for endorsement, but for strategic equity participation in digital health infrastructure—positioning personalised nutrition as a scalable, technology-driven growth frontier.
