Betafin Pet and Microsource CA are designed to support the gut health and overall wellness of cats and dogs

Health ingredients provider IFF has expanded its pet portfolio to include Betafin Pet and Microsource CA.

The two ingredients are designed to improve the gut health of companion animals, with Betafin Pet being catered towards cats and dogs, while Microsource CA is specifically designed for cats.

Betafin Pet, a natural betaine source, has been created to support pet hydration, gut health and overall wellness — allowing consumers to ensure their companion animal is in top shape.

Meanwhile, Microsource CA is a microbiome-enhancing product for improved cat litter management, specifically formulated to reduce faecal ammonia odours in one week.

IFF's latest products focus on clean-label, enzyme-driven palatability, as well as sustainability across its range to help pet brands support the life cycle of companion animals globally.

"We're excited to bring our world-class bioscience into the pet wellness space," said Dr. Jordon Gruber, companion animal technical leader, Health & Biosciences, IFF.

“Our new portfolio will assist brands in tackling key challenges, allowing them to deliver standout products that enhance pet health and wellness in a competitive marketplace."

"From improving gut health and dental care to hydration and reducing odours, we aim to set new benchmarks in the industry."

According to IFF, its pet solutions are tested by its specialist R&D Centres across the US and Europe — ensuring every ingredient is backed by real data.

“As pet parents become increasingly focused on the health of their companion animals, brands in the space must create functional products to meet this demand," added Brett Volmert, senior marketing leader for Pets in North America, Food Ingredients, IFF.

"By creating Microsource CA and Betafin Pet, we hope to help manufacturers achieve this," he concluded.

IFF's pet ingredients are currently available in the US, and will be showcased at the Petfood Forum in Kansas from April 28–30.
