The direct-to-customer division is using Lonza’s ‘capsule-in-a-capsule’ tech in two products and plans to use it for three more this year
Body&Fit, Glanbia Performance Nutrition’s direct-to-consumer brand, and Lonza have announced a collaboration through which Body&Fit will use Lonza’s Duocap capsule portfolio and specialty nutrition ingredients.
The Duocap ‘capsule-in-a-capsule’ delivery format aims to enable combined dosing of ingredients that may otherwise be incompatible.
The first two Duocap products for Body&Fit, Beauty Skin Duo and Pro B Duo, have already been launched. Both products use a titanium dioxide (TiO2) -free inner capsule, aiming for clean label consumers.
The company has plans to launch three additional products for immune health and sleep, mood and anxiety in early 2021. All three will feature the capsule technology.
Its also developing a joint health and support supplement, using Lonza’s TiO2-free hard capsules portfolio and its UC-II undenatured type II collagen ingredient.
A key element of the collaboration is the development of an intra-workout product featuring Lonza’s MuscleGuard formulation.
