Gnosis have announced that its probiotic yeast, Biootic, has successfully passed the Non-GMO Project’s Product Verification Programme, designed to assess compliance with the Non-GMO Project Standard
Non-GMO Project is a nonprofit organisation committed to preserving and building sources of non-GMO products, educating consumers and providing verified non-GMO choices.
It is the only independent verification programme in North America that provides the trusted seal for non-GMO (not genetically modified organisms) food and products.
“Consumer demand for non-GMO ingredients and products is growing. We are delighted to achieve Non-GMO Project Verification for our probiotic yeast Biootic because this label represents an additional assurance to our partners and customers about the non-GMO origin of Biootic and demonstrates Gnosis’ continuous commitment to safety and transparency.
This distinctive label is a competitive advantage for our customers because they can provide a higher level of trust to their customers, meeting US market demands to have cleaner labels”
- said Silvia Pisoni, Marketing Manager of Gnosis.
Biootic S. boulardii is a yeast probiotic with bioregulatory effect on the intestinal flora helping to maintain a normal balance of friendly bacteria in the intestine that modulates immunity.
It may support gut function under many conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and traveler’s diarrhea.
