In a triumph of innovation and dedication to gut health, Digexin was awarded the prestigious Ingredient Idol Award in the microbiome category during the recent SupplySide West trade show in Las Vegas.

The award recognises Digexin's remarkable contributions to digestive and mood health.

Eric Anderson, Managing Director of NXT USA, expressed his enthusiasm for the achievement, saying: "This year's show was terrific, with a great turnout from around the world. We had significant interest in Digexin, both for its clinically verified benefits regarding regularity, but also for the mood support offered by the unique, proprietary herbal blend."

"Digexin supports serotonin production, which works to improve mood while promoting the speed of digestion, resulting in people feeling more physically and emotionally comfortable."

Digexin, a groundbreaking digestive-support ingredient, has been the focus of two clinical studies, with results from the first trial published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology in September 2023. These results confirm its effectiveness in promoting digestive and mood support benefits.

According to the study authors, constipation is a common gastrointestinal (GI) dysfunction that limits social activities and reduces mental and physical well-being.

"The present randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study evaluated the efficacy and tolerability of a proprietary blend of standardised extracts of Withania somnifera root and Abelmoschus esculentus fruit extracts to relieve constipation and improve quality of life in adults," they said.

“These findings demonstrate Digexin's physical and emotional benefits,” Anderson added.

“Our second clinical trial, which is pending publication, affirmed these benefits, and also showed improvements in the speed of transit. After eating a muffin with a special blue dye, study participants noted that transit time was nearly 4 hours faster in the Digexin group compared with the placebo group."

In both trials, Digexin supplementation safely and effectively relieved constipation and improved several associated symptoms, such as GI function, bowel clearance, stress, sleep and quality of life of the study volunteers.
