A novel study published in OBM Geriatrics has revealed that Mibelle Biochemistry's Moldavian Dragonhead nutraceutical, DracoBelle Nu, can improve skin health and boost collagen synthesis, suggesting its potential as a nutricosmetic ingredient.1

The beauty from within-focused supplement ingredient is powered by bioactive flavonoid-glucuronides, which have been proven to enhance collagen synthesis and repair without increasing intake of animal or marine-derived collagen peptides.

Since DracoBelle Nu's efficacy does not rely on collagen building blocks, this nutraceutical can offer as a collagen and skin health-boosting alternative for vegetarians and vegans.

The ingredient could also be used in synergy with collagen peptides, offering an additional pathway to enhancing collagen production, as well as improving skin moisture and elasticity.

To find out more about the study, the ingredient's molecular mechanisms of action and how brands can formulate with DracoBelle Nu, NBR caught up with Torsten Grothe, Head of Food & Health at Mibelle Biochemistry.
