From January 2022, Lonza has extended the availability of its TWK10 sports probiotic to the European market. Originally sourced from Taiwanese kimchi, the L. plantarum probiotic strain is formulated to address athletes' health, performance, and endurance. Licensed exclusively from Synbio Tech, the probiotic is clean label and clinically proven for use in dietary supplements, with additional applications already in development.

According to Lonza’s website, the supplement promotes high performance in athletes of all levels by supporting the body's production of energy through a process called glycolysis.

The increased release of available glucose via glycolysis during exercise fuels the production of adenosine triphosphate, or ATP, the body's natural source of energy. This effect is achieved with a small dose of 100 mg.

The ingredient is also vegan, naturally sourced from food, non-GMO, and self-affirmed GRAS.

In 2021, the product was awarded Sports Nutrition Ingredient of the Year at the 2021 NutraIngredients-USA Awards and recognised by Nutrition Industry Executive as first place in the Sports Nutrition category.
