Lycored appoints Jennifer Elegbede to lead new US-based applications lab as Global Applications Manager

Lycored, a global leader in natural lycopene-based color and taste-enhancing ingredients for food and beverages, has appointed Dr Jennifer Elegbede to lead application and product development strategy as Global Applications Manager of the company’s food business unit

Responsible for managing the application of Lycored’s natural colour, taste and texture ingredients and aligning them to deliver the food industry’s top nutritional and labelling goals, Elegbede will lead the applications development unit for the company’s food business unit world-wide.

Additionally, Elegbede will oversee the start-up of a new US-based applications lab, as well as manage operations of Lycored’s existing Swiss lab.

Tasked to manage the start-up and operation of the company’s US-based Applications Lab, Elegbede will drive strategic product prioritisation across strategic platforms and global customer projects.

In her day-to-day role, Elegbede will support building the global opportunity pipeline by developing and building the application team’s operations and customer-facing capabilities.

Bringing with her more than 10 years of global B2C and B2B food industry experience Elegbede’s resume includes Kellogg’s, delivering pipeline research and innovative product solutions, Michael Foods Inc., responsible for R&D projects and the start-up of new processing facility, ConAgra, overseeing Marie Callendar’s brand innovation, and R&D and product development at Innophos Inc.

In her most recent role as a Senior Scientist & Project Manager for the Food & Beverage Commercial Team at Innophos, Elegbede was responsible for application solutions for phosphates in bakery and plant-based food applications as well as managing the delivery of Technical Solutions Based Launches.

Securing her doctorate in food science from Purdue University in 2016, Elegbede also holds a Master of Science degree in food science from Alabama A&M University and Bachelor of Science degree in food science and human nutrition from the University of Illinois.
