Stepan Lipid Nutrition, a global leading manufacturer of specialty lipids for food, nutrition and pharmaceutical products, will showcase its portfolio of innovative nutritional powders during Food Matters Live, in London.
'Powders are a highly versatile form, as their consistency facilitates the nutritional enhancement of foods and dietary supplements, while customising them at the same time,' said Robert Bailey, Global Commercial Development Manager at Stepan Lipid Nutrition. 'Powders can be integrated into foods that everyone eats and enjoys on a day-to-day basis, such as fruit snacks for children or convenient breakfast drinks for the elderly. These are just two examples, as the potential food and beverage applications are almost limitless,' Bailey said.
Stepan Lipid Nutrition’s expansive powder portfolio can be formulated within a variety of applications in nutritional products, sports nutrition, medical foods, baked goods and bars. Their portfolio consists of five powders within the Clarinol CLA, Marinol Omega-3 Triglycerides and NEOBEE Medium Chain Triglycerides product lines. All products are Novel Foods and can be used in capsules, soft gels, gummies, chews and powder mixes.
Clarinol CLA is a microencapsulated oil in free-flowing powder form with a high concentration of CLA in the form of triglycerides. Human clinical studies have shown that CLA may reduce body fat and increase lean body mass. Recommended applications are food supplements and sports nutrition products.
Marinol Omega-3 Triglycerides are a concentrated, premetabolised and naturally structured omega-3 formulation, made using a gentle, proprietary purification process. The two product forms are Marinol DHA 20% Powder for cognitive health, and Marinol Omega-3 HS Powder, a concentrated blend of EPA and DHA, for maintaining heart health. Recommended applications include nutritional products, sports nutrition products, beverages, baked goods and bars.
NEOBEE Medium Chain Triglycerides are produced using glycerol from vegetable sources and medium-chain fatty acids from coconut or palm kernel oil, available in both 50% and 70% powders. MCTs are rapidly metabolised to provide energy, and research has indicated that they may support enhanced nutrient absorption. Recommended applications include sports nutrition, weight management products and beverage mixes.
