Nutriearth is very pleased to announce that on the 28th November 2025, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) issued a positive safety opinion for Food-oil - our natural oil-based vitamin D3 ingredient, designed for functional foods. The EFSA Panel concluded that Nutra Food-oil is safe under the proposed uses and use levels.
“This positive opinion represents a major milestone in the EU regulatory process and follows the EU’s authorisation of N-utra, our functional flour in February 2025”, said Jeremy Burks, CEO of Nutriearth.

“With a growing global distribution network and production capacity enough to provide the necessary amounts of vitamin D3 for more than 50 million people, Nutriearth is well positioned to meet growing demand for natural, sustainable vitamin D3 solutions”, continued Burks.
The oil format opens the way for a significantly broader range of functional-food applications, including beverages, dairy alternatives, fortified oils, spreads, bakery products, and other formats requiring lipid-based incorporation. The opinion also establishes a strong foundation for future expansion into nutraceutical products, pending final EU authorisation.
The application will now move to the European Commission for risk-management and then, we anticipate onto a formal approval by the European Union within the next calendar year.
