The biotech company CoreFX Ingredients has announced that it has established a new European headquarters, CoreNhanced Biotechnology Limited, in Ireland.
The new HQ will serve as CoreFX's European hub for R&D and commercial expansion, with the company already operating across North America and Europe, with three facilities in Illinois and Wisconsin, US.
CoreFX develops additive powders for the nutraceutical sector through its proprietary CoreNhanced platform.
The technology aims to improve how bioactive molecules perform across different phases of use, addressing issues involving stability, protective shielding, transport, functionality, sensory qualities and manufacturing efficiency.
The firm said that it selected Ireland for the site for its "globally recognised strengths in food science, biotechnology, research collaboration and access to exceptional scientific talent."
The new headquarters will focus on collaboration with Teagasc Moorepark, a publicly funded research campus in County Cork dedicated to dairy and food science.
"Returning to Ireland to establish our European headquarters is personally meaningful, but this decision was driven by much more than my own roots," said Denis Neville, founder and CEO of CoreFX.

The Irish operation has already brought on three scientists, headed by Dr Cara Maloney, an accomplished drug-delivery and biomaterials scientist with more than five years of postdoctoral research experience.
Trevor Dunne, who has more than 20 years of international leadership experience across the food, flavour and nutrition sectors, will serve as the Managing Director for Europe.
