FTS Cleanrooms has completed a 14,000sqm turnkey manufacturing facility for global herbal health and nutraceutical brand Himalaya in Dubai, UAE.
Located in Dubai Internet City (DIC), the facility has been designed to support nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic production, which require different ISO classifications, contamination control and equipment specifications all within the same manufacturing site.
FTS Cleanrooms said that it had managed the project as a single turnkey contractor, overseeing design, construction, installation, commissioning and validation.
The UAE-based company said this approach enabled the facility to be delivered within a year.
Integrated approach to cleanroom manufacturing
Large-scale cleanroom projects are often divided between multiple contractors, with separate companies responsible for design, installation and validation.
However, FTS Cleanrooms argued that managing the Himalaya project through a single team helped reduce handovers and potential delays while maintaining continuity from the initial design through to final validation.
The facility is intended to support Himalaya's manufacturing operations across pharma, nutra and cosmetic products, bringing several different production requirements together within a single site.
The project manager said FTS Cleanrooms maintained an organised, responsive approach throughout delivery.
"For a facility of this size, we were impressed with how smoothly FTS Cleanrooms managed everything," they said.
The execution met our expectations and the overall experience was professional and hassle-free.
