John is a veteran of the natural products and science-backed ingredients space. He is a Food Scientist with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a Master’s degree in Food Science. He also holds a Professional Diploma in Strategy and Innovation from the Smurfit Business School, University College Dublin, Ireland. Previously, John spent 18 years at Kerry Group, holding various prestigious positions, including Global Portfolio Vice President of ProActive Health and North America Applied Health and Nutrition Leader. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with prominent health and wellness CPG corporations such as Nestlé, Danone, and Unilever.
John has significant experience scaling businesses via organic growth and mergers & acquisitions. During John’s time at Kerry, his team was responsible for creating the ProActive Health portfolio of science-backed branded ingredients, encompassing the acquisitions of Biothera, Ganeden, Bio-K+, Biosearch Life, and Natreon. Before joining Gencor, John was the founder and CEO of BiaQ, a boutique strategic advisory firm focused on the food and beverage and consumer health industries. John has significant international experience, having lived and worked in the USA, Ireland, the UK, and New Zealand.
As John steps into the CEO role, Gencor’s founders and co-owners, Jith Veeravalli and Ramasamy Venkatesh, will continue to serve on the Board of Directors and provide strategic guidance to the Gencor group. This strategic transition aims to ensure seamless leadership and promote continued collaboration.
