The flavour and fragrance manufacturer MANE has announced its acquisition of citrus oil and essence supplier Cvista for an undisclosed sum.
The purchase will strengthen MANE's position in the citrus market, which it called a "key area for innovation across flavours and beverages."
The brand said that it plans to establish a global Citrus and Beverage Center of Excellence in Riverview, Florida, using the newly acquired facilities and teams.
It added that it will retain the Cvista teams, who will bring "valuable citrus knowledge and experience."
Cvista is a leading supplier with deep technological expertise, operating across the entire citrus value chain — from sourcing raw materials to fractionating flavour compounds.
The firm's Florida campus includes a highly automated manufacturing platform that supports continuous production of high-purity citrus ingredients (such as valencene, decanal and nootkatone), along with QC analytical laboratories and a pilot-scale platform for tailor-made citrus fractions.
MANE will now have access to Cvista's industrial operations, including distillation, extraction, resin-based processing and molecular distillation, as well as Cvista's worldwide sourcing network for raw materials.
A new centre in the US will bring MANE closer to citrus sourcing regions, which it plans to leverage using its recent partnership with Arzeda to produce and commercialise ViaLeaf Reb M technology to create new functional and reduced-sugar beverages.
The deal indicates ongoing consolidation in the natural ingredient supply sector, with companies jostling to acquire expertise in specialised, trace compounds rather than simply bulk capacity.
The partnership with Arzeda for ViaLeaf Reb M will enable Mane to accelerate its development of functional and healthier citrus products as well, which will be supported with the new Center of Excellence.
