At Vitafoods 2018, Taiyo presented its Xia Oil, a premium chia oil, with a range of health benefits and a high alpha-linolenic acid content, making it an ideal source of vegetarian omega-3 fatty acids.
Alongside were Sunphenon instant teas, known for their high polyphenol and catechin content and their proven antioxidant effects.
In addition, visitors were able to learn more about Taiyo’s extensive range of functional ingredients and microwave-dried products.
With Xia Oil, Taiyo showcased a versatile chia oil compound containing more than 60% alpha-linolenic acid. Xia Oil is the richest natural source of vegetarian omega-3 fatty acids on the market, making it an ideal dietary supplement for vegetarians and vegans.
A regular intake has a positive effect on heart health, blood circulation and cortisol levels. It can be kept for up to 2 years at normal ambient temperatures, with its antioxidant ORAC value remaining constant.
Xia Oil is almost colourless and tasteless, with a slightly nutty note. As such, it can be used in powder form, added to vegan latte beverages, chilled coffee or iced tea beverages or utilised as a rapeseed or olive oil substitute in dressings.
Also presented were Taiyo’s various drinking concepts, including Suntheanine, SunMatcha, various green tea extracts and Sunphenon instant teas. Suntheanine is a branded form of l-theanine, a constituent of tea that is clinically proven to reduce stress and enhance well-being.
Sunphenon instant teas are refreshing everyday products based on raw tea extracts. Available in natural and flavored options, they are highly soluble – even in cold water.
Their high content of secondary plant compounds means the teas are credited with many positive properties, including antioxidant, antimicrobial, odour-suppressing and thermogenic effects.
