KLEPTOSE Linecaps by Roquette is a pea maltodextrin designed for masking unpleasant drug tastes. Due to its origin from pea starch, KLEPTOSE Linecaps is rich in linear and soluble amylose.

Amylose exists as helical structures and like a cyclodextrin these bear a hydrophilic external surface and a hydroscopic internal cavity, created by the presence of glycosodic ether bonds. The cavity enables amylose to mask the bitter and unpleasant taste of drugs by decreasing the amount of drug exposed to taste buds.

KLEPTOSE Linecaps offers a taste masking technology suitable for a wide range of dosage forms (solids, liquids, dry syrups and orodispersible films). It is distributed in Italy by Giusto Faravelli.
