A growing number of consumers, particularly Millennials, are looking for healthier products with cleaner labels.

Even though the concept of clean-labelling is not well defined nor regulated, the general consensus is that cleaner labels contain fewer, consumer-friendly (that is, familiar and/or naturally sourced) ingredients such as flour, butter and eggs and vegetable proteins, chicory root fibre or potato starch, for example.

With this in mind, plant ingredients with multiple health benefits are particularly interesting as they can be used to to simplify recipes and deliver holistic nutritional benefits. Cosucra’s core ingredients, Fibruline chicory root fibre and Pisane pea protein isolate, are among those trendy ingredients. To demonstrate their benefits and the added-value of including simple ingredients in your end products, Cosucra will present two turnkey concepts:

  • a sugar-reduced hard candy that is high in fibre, offering a digestive health benefit and a reduced blood sugar response
  • a breakfast gingerbread, which is a source of protein and high in fibre for a wholesome and satiating meal alternative.

Cosucra will also use Vitafoods 2016 to introduce Fibruline S30, an upgraded granulated inulin with increased solubility that’s ideal for bakery and confectionery applications. To taste our concepts and learn more about our new ingredient, visit stand J72.
