Tropical flavours rise again

Synergy, leading flavours and ingredients manufacturer, has launched a new range of passion fruit flavours to meet the rise in demand for more exotic tastes.

Available in five distinct taste profiles, the range offers manufacturers the flexibility to create new and exciting flavour combinations tailored to suit their needs.


Prompted by prominent sporting events such as the Brazil World Cup in 2014 and the upcoming Olympic Games in 2016, native Latin American flavours such as passion fruit have seen an increase in popularity with consumers embracing more global cuisines. This trend is reflected by the rise in tropical flavoured new product development which reached a 5 year high with 580 new launches in Europe in Q2 of 2014.


Available in a liquid and spray dry format, Synergy’s range of passion fruit flavours can be used in a wide variety of applications, from yoghurts and biscuits to sports nutrition drinks. The flavour range includes purple and yellow passion fruit varieties, which offer a diverse and unique taste experience. The breadth of flavours available comprise tropical, citrus, juicy and fruity taste profiles, allowing manufacturers to create distinct passion fruit flavoured products.
