Nutraceutical product provider NOW Foods has continued its high-value supplement testing initiative with an evaluation of methyl B12 products available from the retail giant, Amazon.com.

This follows the company's previous assessments of SAM-e, creatine, resveratrol, berberine, glutathione and magnesium products, which identified significant potency issues, as well as labelling discrepancies.

Testing results reveal that similar issues can be observed for vitamin B12 supplements available on Amazon — though not as severely as some of the other products tested through this programme.

To dissect the results, the challenges vitamin B12 pose for formulators and the next steps for the industry, NBR spoke with Katie Banaszewski, NOW Foods' Senior Director of Quality.
