Bionov will also highlight the latest developments to its dried melon supplement on Stand K7

Bionov will present the latest developments to its dried melon SuperOxide Dismutase SOD B and the latest data on its mechanism of action by oral route, as well as new clinical data on SOD B Extramel at Health Ingredients Europe.

Published in the journal Nutrients, this latest clinical study confirms the quick and lasting effect of SOD B Extramel in improving daily performance, the company said.

This second clinical study, performed on 61 people, reported a significant reduction of stress (–8.8%) and physical fatigue (–9.4%), as well as an improvement of cognitive performances (+13.9%) after three months of oral supplementation at 10mg/day.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 450 million people suffer from mental disorders; Bionov says SOD B Extramel represents an efficient well-being solution in the growing segment of stress and cognition.

Already the winner of the 2008 European Anti-stress Promising Ingredient of the Year Award, SOD B Extramel is now supported by two major clinical studies.

Thanks to the high activity of bioactive SuperOxide Dismutase (SOD), SOD B Extramel fights one of the major consequences of stress and mental disorders: oxidative stress.

The company said it is scientifically established that chronic stress, as well as decreased cognitive performances and physical fatigue are associated with an overproduction of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS).
