Sami–Sabinsa founder honoured with multiple awards for outstanding industry achievement

Sabinsa founder Dr Muhammed Majeed and Sabinsa’s parent company Sami Labs were honoured recently with several awards by the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), an organisation of more than 300 Chambers of Commerce and trade associations with the mission to impact the policy and legislative environment to foster balanced economic, industrial and social development in India.

The awards were presented at the ASSOCHAM National Symposium on Nutraceuticals, Functional Food and Dietary Supplements in New Delhi.

In recognition of his pioneering research and outstanding achievement in the nutraceutical industry, Dr Majeed received a Shield of Honor from India’s Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey.

This award not only recognises Dr Majeed’s outstanding contributions to nutraceuticals research but also his work to improve awareness and understanding of the health benefits of herbal products based upon Ayurvedic traditions and expanded through modern research and development techniques.

Sami Labs, which manufactures and markets phytonutrients and standardised herbal extracts, specialty fine chemicals and organic intermediates for the nutritional, cosmeceutical and food industries, was honoured with two Certificate of Excellence Awards: Best Nutraceutical Company and Best Herbal Research Company.

“I am truly honoured to be recognised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India,” said Dr Majeed.
