Kaneka Ubiquinol has announced its sponsorship of the new Mitochondrial Health category at Vitafoods Europe 2026 (5-7 May)

Ubiquinol, the bioactive form of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), is vital for energy production and antioxidant protection, but levels of the molecule decline after age 20.

Kaneka Ubiquinol is a clinically established ingredient backed by more than 45 years of research and 100+ studies, serving as a key pillar in the field of mitochondrial health and cellular healthcare evolution.

Why this matters

Market analyses suggest that the mitochondrial health and cellular health segment is gaining significant attention from global health and medical experts due to its essential role in supporting optimal well-being throughout all life stages.

This focus is reshaping the categories of Healthy Ageing, Women's Health and Cellular Energy, driven by demand from both healthcare practitioners and consumers.

The Cellular Health category is projected to reach $3.67bn by 2035, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.3%.

Marking the sponsorship milestone, Kaneka Ubiquinol announced the launch of the Kaneka Mitochondrial Innovation Forum — a dedicated three-day education programme at the Kaneka Ubiquinol Pavilion (Hall 3B 102) to build upon Vitafoods Europe's robust education offering and accelerate its position as a true trusted Innovation Partner for its customers.

The company said in its announcement that the forum aims to equip partners with the "latest scientific data, application insights, go-to-market strategy support and category foresight to convert market momentum into sustained commercial growth."

At the forum, internationally recognised market, scientific, innovation and education experts will present the latest clinical advancements and innovation opportunities in mitochondrial function and Ubiquinol.

These experts will include Nick Morgan, Nutrition Integrated; David Foreman, The Herbal Pharmacist; Stephanie Berglin, Nutritionist and Scientific Educator; Jeannie Kwa, Dietician, HCP Educator and CBEC Specialist (Cross Border E-Commerce, China) and Ms Yuri Ando, Scientific Affairs Team, KANEKA Corporation.

Filip Van hulle, General Manager, Kaneka Ubiquinol Europe, said: "The Kaneka Mitochondrial Innovation Forum embodies our responsibility as inaugural Mitochondrial Health Category Sponsor."

Having maintained a continuous presence at Vitafoods Europe since 2004, this milestone represents the natural progression of more than two decades of leadership in evidence-based ingredient innovation.
