CDMO SIRIO Europe has announced the launch of Aeion, a new "longevity platform" that comprises eight ready-to-launch concepts grounded in the latest nutritional science.
The firm said the platform was designed around the idea that long-term healthy ageing is formed through simple, repeatable daily rituals.
The new portfolio will be showcased at Vitafoods Europe, taking place in Barcelona, May 5-7 and spans a wide range of modern delivery formats — including gummies, softgels, direct-to-mouth powders, next-generation Fizzybit tablets and LifeChews jelly tablets — several of which will premiere for the first time at the show.
With this launch, SIRIO stated that it aims to enable brands to "rapidly bring premium, consumer-centric longevity supplements to market" that address key health concerns such as energy, inflammaging, mobility and heart health.
Snowmelt: a new instant-dissolve DTM delivery format
The Aeion NAD+ Energy platform introduces SIRIO's innovative Snowmelt delivery format, an instant-dissolve powder that melts on the tongue, allowing for quick, water-free consumption.
This product combines nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH), L-ergothioneine and vitamin C to support mitochondrial function and cellular health in a portable format.
Visitors at Vitafoods can experience Snowmelt in an immersive room at the SIRIO booth.
Tackling "inflammaging"
An emerging area of longevity research is "inflammaging."
Quercetin, a plant flavonoid, plays a key role in this process due to its antioxidative properties. Found naturally in fruits and vegetables, quercetin intake in Western diets averages only 52 mg per day in Europe.
Aeion Quercetin offers 250 mg of quercetin and 125 mg of vitamin C, which enhances absorption, in a sugar-free, pectin-based gummy.
This vegan product features a clean label, a pleasant texture, a natural yellow colour and a "zesty" lemon flavour, which SIRIO says will appeal to today's discerning consumers.
Smoothing the move to healthy longevity
Among the eight concepts to be unveiled in Barcelona is Aeion Active, a softgel designed to support long-term mobility and address a growing concern for many consumers.
Research from the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) shows that 30-40% of individuals aged 65 and above have difficulty walking just 100 meters.
Aeion Active provides 500 mg of N-acetylglucosamine (NAG) for joint and bone comfort, along with 1400 mg of concentrated fish oil (DHA and EPA) and various vitamins and minerals, all in two convenient softgels per day.
The brand added that further concepts can be discovered at the show, with solutions for health areas such as heart health, metabolism, skin health, mental energy and more to be showcased.
