Virginia Dare has announced that it will be showcasing its flavour-centred functional ingredient portfolio at this year's IFT FIRST.
The company, known for its vanilla, flavour and masking/modifier expertise, said it would be bringing new concepts to the show that pair functional ingredients such as mushrooms, collagen and creatine with trend-forward flavours such as Dubai chocolate and matcha latte.
The brand added that these had been developed to reflect several of the most active areas in food and beverage innovation, including alcohol alternatives, beauty-from-within, cognitive wellness, protein, gut health and convenient formats.
"Today’s functional products have to do more than deliver a benefit," said Philip Caputo, Marketing & Consumer Insights Manager at Virginia Dare, "They have to taste good enough for consumers to use them every day."

Applications being featured at the show include the following:
- No Island Iced Tea Spirit-Free Cocktail: Long Island's alcohol-free, tea-infused, lightly carbonated cousin made with gin, bourbon, tequila, citrus and tea flavours
- Rainbow Sherbet Supersoda: a rainbow sherbet flavoured soda supercharged with prebiotic fibre, biotin, vitamins C and E and VERISOL collagen peptides
- Oatmeal Cream Pie Mushroom Latte: an oatmeal cream pie flavoured cold brew oat milk latte made with MYCO-GNITION mushroom blend for cognitive health support and antioxidant protection
- Dubai Chocolate Whey Protein Bar: a chocolate and pistachio crème flavoured high-protein, low-sugar nutrition bar inspired by one of the world's most talked about global flavour trends
- Watermelon Creatine Gummy: a watermelon flavoured creatine supplement gummy for cognitive support, muscle recovery, physical strength and energy
- Cherry Lemonade Collagen Gummy: a cherry lemonade flavoured collagen protein supplement gummy designed to support skin, hair, nails and joints
- Matcha Latte Plant Protein Shake: a matcha latte flavoured plant protein shake sweetened with stevia.
Virginia Dare will carry on one of its traditions at IFT with its vanilla chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches, available for all three days of the show and featuring the firm's signature 2X Pure Madagascar Vanilla.
